Mental Health - It’s not You!

YOUR MENTAL HEALTH IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY - HOWEVER ITS NOT YOUR FAULT!

What if your mental health wasn’t actually because of you, and to not hold the blame, shame and stigma!


Yes, our health and wellbeing will always come down to being our own responsibility, however what if the contributing factors to poor mental wellbeing, was actually our external environment and the systems and infrastructures around us, which have become fundamental to our human existence?

  • Food Production - Chemicals - Neurotoxins - Endocrine Disruptors

  • The Water- Soil & Air Quality

  • Money System itself - GDP hamster wheel

  • We have moved away from Communities that would have supported one another with purpose - to a stressful self-sufficiency/ self-reliance that has us rely on large organisations instead.

  • A system that heavily focuses and values academia, rather than creative and emotional intelligence

This video was recorded simply after a full day in clinic, a little on the tired side, however I feel these are key aspects of our health and wellbeing that need to be seen and addressed, as a collective of aware and conscious individuals, to no longer question their sanity and to call for action for imperative changes, for our health, our children’s and our planet’s!

Shikimate Pathway was what I couldn’t say - like I say, I was tired!!

What if we aren’t the problem, yet are part of the problem - what does that mean?

Does that mean we can be empowered to make changes?

YES!

  • Look at the quality of your food - buy seasonally, locally and organically where possible

  • Is it GMO derived - hence greater exposure to glyphosate?

  • Live more cyclic and seasonally

  • Reduce blue light exposure and social media scrolling

  • Eat foods with high pro and prebiotic for a health gut biome

  • Vitamin D - get sunshine and get your bare feet on the ground.

  • Make choices that align with your desires, pleasure and joy - let go of the shame word “should”

  • Ask what brings you joy, how can you do little things that bring you joy every 30-60 mins? (for me it’s dancing like a pro, in my head that is, in the kitchen with my dog!, swinging my hips and bopping)

  • Get up and Get Out - move - exercise releases happy hormones

  • Go to bed earlier

  • Be creative in you own way - ask the big question - how can I serve in a way that serves my joy?

  • Grow your own vegetables if you have space, this includes front lawns!

  • If you know where to start - create community food production schemes and initiatives - start asking questions as to how to.

  • Take a BREAK - BREATHE - MEDITATE, find comfort in stillness

  • Practice Mindfulness - be Mindful of you Thoughts

  • Know that you are a MIRACLE and that You are Enough!
